Marquee Tips
When it comes to hiring a marquee keep these pointers in mind:
1 - Know how many people you're hosting for.
The first thing you need to do is get a head count or a close estimate of the number of guests you are expecting. Hosting an event where people are packed in tight is no fun for anyone. Alternatively, having an empty marquee the size of a football field can make your event feel like a ghost town. So trust me providing this number to our staff will help to choose the perfect size for your function.
2 - Don't leave the booking to last minute.
I know this is a no brainer, but you would be surprised at how many people forget or assume they can just 'throw something together' last minute. So wrong, the more notice we have the better prepared we are. If your planning on hosting an event make sure to book early especially during the busy seasons and don't assume those dates will be available. The sooner you book and pay a deposit the better.
3 - What extras do you require?
By the time you have ticked off the previous two tips, you should be clear on what type of function your hiring for. What you need your marquee for will have a lot to do with which one you choose. Marquees can be hired independently or as a package (ask us about our Wedding Packages). We consider ourselves experts when hiring out marquees but we still cannot read your mind when it comes to envisioning the occasion. Providing as much details/descriptions as possible will help us create the look and practicality to best meet your vision.
4 - Have a budget in mind.
When it comes to discussing what your requirements are, you first need to know what your budget is. This is key, having a budget in mind allows your to narrow your options and keep you from wasting your time with companies that fall way outside your price range. However, making your decision based solely on price alone can also leave you with a result that isn't entirely perfect. It is best to go with an option you can afford but also won't look too cheap because let's be honest no one wants that.
5 - Check what your venue's requirements are.
Before you get your heart set on the most amazing marquee, first check with your venue's requirements. Having a clear understanding of the venue's position on marquees will put you in a better place to choose the perfect marquee. Consider factors such as same day removal or only allowing marquees in certain locations or possibly not at all, this will all play a part in the decision process and avoid having your heart broken.
